💧 Care list
Watering and feeding for each plant. With your own design you also get weekly care emails and a Companion to ask questions.
-
Autumn Sage
For the first 6–8 weeks after planting, water deeply about twice weekly when the upper 2 inches of soil have dried, then gradually lengthen the interval through the first growing season. Once established, water about every 2–3 weeks during hot, dry weather, skipping irrigation after adequate rain and while soil remains moist. Autumn sage usually needs no fertilizer; in notably poor soil, apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer at half the labeled rate once in early spring.
-
Sedum 'Dragon's Blood'
For the first 6–8 weeks, water enough to moisten the shallow root zone about every 5–7 days, allowing it to dry between waterings. Once established, this succulent groundcover generally needs supplemental water only after 2–3 weeks without rain during hot weather; avoid keeping the soil continuously moist. Fertilizer is rarely necessary; only in very poor soil, apply a balanced fertilizer at half the labeled rate once in spring.
-
Dwarf Mat Rush 'Breeze'
During the first 2–3 months, water thoroughly about once or twice weekly as the upper 2 inches of soil dry, then gradually reduce frequency. Once established, water deeply about every 2–3 weeks during extended hot, dry weather, allowing the soil to dry between applications and skipping irrigation after rain. This mat rush rarely needs fertilizer; if growth is weak in poor soil, apply a low-phosphorus, slow-release fertilizer once in spring at the labeled rate.
…and 6 more.

Prices are rough US estimates, not quotes. They vary by region, store and season, so expect to pay more at a specialty nursery and less at a big-box store or end-of-season sale. Amounts of mulch, compost and edging are worked out from about 70 square feet of bed; measure your beds to fine-tune them.
